School Secretary Pay

14/6/2022

Please note that the F.S.S.U. have now published Circular 36/2022 and the F.S.S.U. have also published Financial Guideline P20-2021/2022. These outline the initial phase of the new School Secretary pay regime.

School Secretaries who have traditionally applied for Job Seekers Benefit during the Summer months should continue to do so during July and August 0f 2022.

The first phase of the implementation of the new pay-scales will apply from the 1st of September 2022. It is important to note that the school will continue to pay school secretaries directly until at least the 1st of January 2023 and possibly until the 1st of January 2024.

We note that details of the funding of pay-scale increases for school secretaries and the arrangements for payment of calculated back-pay are not contained in these publications but will be contained in a future circular.

This agreement has been long awaited and should improve the terms and conditions for the majority of school secretaries.

I will publish a more detailed blog on this matter before the end of August.
